Basic but Functional.

Free Video Converter from Abdio is quite succinctly named. It's free, and it lets you convert videos from one file type to another. A variety of different formats are supported and it also allows you to rip DVDs into your preferred format.

The download is a simple executable file. Installation takes just seconds but be careful when installing or the browser add ons and homepage changes might slip by you.

The interface is nothing special, but it does its job. Selecting and converting files with this program is not a challenge to anyone. Featuring large buttons and prompts to select the desired output type, quality and destination file, you certainly won't be distracted by superfluous options.

The multiple languages supported, including English, French and Chinese, give it a good niche, as many other alternatives are English only, and if English is your second language you might find this enough of a reason to pick it over the competition.
